In April, 1896, a crowd gathered on the public square in Sherman, Texas for the laying of the corner stone for the Confederate Monument. About that same time, Charles O. Dannel established a funeral home in Greenfield, Illinois. It was the beginning of a family business, now in its fifth generation. Read more.
