Services

Times change and so do funeral services. Technology, style, personalization, religious customs, and family preferences are carefully considered as services and burial arrangements are planned. The Dannels will listen to your preferences and become your advocate to achieve a remarkable experience for your family.

“There is no one right way to conduct a funeral – no ‘oughts’ and ‘shoulds,’” said Pat Dannel. “For many, that can be freeing, allowing them to tailor a service to the personality of the deceased. The important thing is that this is our family serving your family, and we will do whatever is most joyous or memorable or comforting, traditional or not.”

Charles Dannel continued, saying, “In the same way that we aren’t driving the same kind of car that our parents drove, we don’t necessarily want the same funeral that our parents had. Often, people want more creativity in their funerals – they want to express their feelings in different ways. Meaningful services can be tailored to meet unique needs. That’s our job.”

If you have any questions, please contact us so that we might answer each of your inquiries specifically.

Traditional
Many find great comfort in the familiar practices of long-standing traditions. Like cherished hymns, the rituals of family night, a comforting religious service and a graveside ceremony have liturgies and rhythms that are recognized and appreciated. Within customary practices there are many variations that you may want to consider. After learning your priorities, we will offer suggestions to help guide you through the planning process and through the services. We are here for you every step of the way.

Contemporary
Whether it’s downloaded music or scenes from a streaming video, Dannel Funeral Home is prepared to bring the latest technology and contemporary features to any service. We can assist friends of the family as they prepare a eulogy. We can help display photos and personal mementos. There are many joyful approaches to honor the personality of the deceased in ways the family appreciates. Let us talk with you about your ideas and how to incorporate those meaningful details into the service.

Changing Customs; Fitting Tributes
There are many wonderful and perfectly acceptable ways to honor a loved one. In recent years, caskets have become more personalized, such as optional corners to indicated armed services or some object representative of a favorite hobby. You can even wrap the casket with a visual scene of something that best represents your loved one. Vaults can also be etched with words or pictures.

Caskets/Vaults
Family members may visit our funeral home to select a casket. We are available to answer questions and can attest to the craftsmanship and details of each casket. With a range of outer materials from hardwood to bronze, copper and steel, and interiors from crepe to velvet, families are able to choose their preferences in a private setting.

A vault surrounds the casket when it is placed in the ground, providing a barrier and additional strength from heavy equipment.

Urns/Vaults
Families choose urns for a number of settings – for burial, niches, scattering, keepsake or placement in the home. Urns may be ornate or very plain and are made from a variety of materials, such as marble, bronze, stainless steel, wood, ceramics, and cloisonne’. Some families wish to personalize the urns.

Urn vaults are protective containers and are required for burial in some cemeteries.

Jewelry
Keepsake jewelry is one way to keep a loved one close by having the funeral director place a lock of hair or cremated remains inside a pendant or locket, where it is safely secured.

Additional Items
Families members may wish to purchase bookmarks or other personalized products in memory of a loved one. The Dannel Funeral Home staff will gladly speak with you about any additional items.
